New Headteachers support

Whether you are a new Headteacher, a Headteacher new to BPSI, or both, we can offer a range of support for you.

We've put together a sample of documents, training courses and suggested consultancy below which provides a flavour of the services BPSI and Barnet Local Authority can provide our new Headteachers.

Katie Dawbarn (one of our Learning Network Inspectors) runs a New Headteacher Forum once a term which, as the name suggests, is an opportunity for new headteachers to get together and share experiences and issues and give support to one another. It is also an opportunity to have questions answered by either experienced headteachers or specialists e.g. HR, Governance, Finance etc. If you would like to be a part of this forum please email katie.dawbarn@barnet.gov.uk

Don't Lose Your Head!

Teaching has been found to be the most stressful profession in the UK (HSE research). A recent survey of teachers by the Nasuwt teaching union found that 83% reported workplace stress.  Teachers have the support of their Headteachers but who supports the Headteacher?

BPSI have put together a booklet of useful resources for Headteachers called 'Don't Lose Your Head'  This includes details of useful courses, details of coaching and services can help support Headteachers.
