Governor Development Programme
Governor Support and Development courses are organised on a termly basis to cover relevant and general topics. In addition, school-based training is offered for the whole governing body or committees on a range of topics specific to their school.

SEN - Barnet and Local Offer
The Local offer provides children, young people with special needs and disabilities and their families information about suport available in the local area as required by the Children and Families Act 2014.

The Early Years Standards Team provides guidance, support and training across all early years sectors to raise quality and improve educational standards. This includes advice on organising an appropriate learning environment, assessment of children’s development and progress including the two year old progress check, preparation and action related to Ofsted inspections. The team works with all early years settings and accredited childminding networks supporting children from birth to six-years-old. Support is given to all new settings, and then provided according to the level of need within settings.

Multi-Agency Workforce
The Multi-agency Workforce Strategy Group has continued to lead the development of the skills and knowledge of our workforce through a diverse range of collaborative learning and development initiatives. They focus on common and practical recruitment approaches enhances outcomes for children and young people in Barnet.

Skills Training Centre
Skills Training Centre Ltd (STC) have been providing a comprehensive range of quality, cost effective, short courses to Schools and Children’s Centres for many years. STC offer all schools and Children’s Centres unlimited places (subject to fair use policy) for staff on a wide range of the most popular scheduled courses for one fixed annual fee. For larger schools they have capped the charges to make the package as cost effective as possible.
